While Mom Was Out

While Mom went to help Britney out with her new baby,

Marcy, Melanie and I snuck home to try to surprise her.

We started out by making a huge mess.

We also got Dad involved by putting him on the spot to give approval

for some of our destructive projects.

He also did a good job keeping the secret as he talked to Mom every day

and she never even got supsicious!

This was one of the projects Dad approved,we took out the bookcase/divider.

We took that little spot behind Dad's chair....


...and Marcy and Melanie used all their carpenter skills and patience and a lot of caulking

to put the old bookcase in the space...


We also took the old mirror....


...gave it an update!

Melanie had to run out to stall Mom since we were still hanging things back up when she pulled up.

Mom first wondered why her table was outside on the porch

then she was shocked to see Marcy and I there and then she had to take in all the changes.

I think it took her at least a half hour to even process everything

then, as you would suspect, she did start to cry.

We had a great time, we just wish we would have had more time to stay after Mom got home.

Mom and Dad did go shopping with us on our way our of town and ordered a new couch.

New carpet and vinyl are also on the way!
